Panoramic type of X-ray will have the machine to rotates around the head in order to check your wisdom teeth, plan for prosthodontics or investigate jaw problems. It takes one shot of the X-ray to check all the teeth in your mouth and identify overall infection.
Cephalogram X-ray will identify side-picture of the head and the teeth to show exposing teeth, jaw and surrounding structures. Both panoramic and cephalogram are used in orthodontics to create the plan for handle each patient case.
